FAQ

  • How do I book?

Each artist has their own booking form which is monitored by your chosen artist. To book, go to our artists page and click the book now button under your artists name. Fill out the form to the best of your ability and your artist will contact you as soon as possible. This is the quickest way to get booked in. Please be patient, our artists are very busy but aim to get back to you within 5 working days.

  • What if I don’t know what I want?

We know how tricky is it deciding on your tattoo and we are here to help!

If you aren’t sure about the design or which artist to pick, use our general enquires form and we will get in touch.

  • How much do you charge?

Each of our artists at Loveless work on different price rates. Prices are worked out by taking into account design time, sizing, placement and how long it will take us to tattoo. All tattoo prices vary but our artists will give you a rough price estimation based off the information you have given us. The price is inclusive of designing so there will be no hidden surprises.

  • What is a deposit?

All of our artists run on a no deposit, no appointment basis. The deposit price varies on the time slot that you have booked but usually is between £30-100. The deposit is non-refundable but we are happy to reschedule your appointment if you give us at least 7 days notice. The deposit covers us for the time you have booked and covers the price of the design before your tattoo. The deposit is deducted off the final price of your tattoo on the day.

  • Where is the studio?

The studio is located within the Evolve Business Park on Old Ipswich Road in Ardleigh, Colchester. We are Unit 21, Mayfly Way.

The studio is 10 min car journey from Colchester train station and is easily accessible by car or public transport.

We have free onsite visitor parking.

Please note, we are in a new business park so the post-code doesn’t always work on some Sat- Nav/Maps. Please see our contact us page for information on how to get to us.

  • Can I bring friends?

Unfortunately, due to our studio being very small and private, we kindly ask our clients to come alone to their appointment. This is to ensure we can keep our clients safety and well-being a top priority and also allows us to give you the best personal experience.

If you need assistance, please message your artist ahead of time to let them know.

We are a very welcoming, friendly studio and free moral support is included within your tattoo!

  • How about aftercare?

After every tattoo, your artist will email you an aftercare sheet. We recommend you stick to the aftercare your artist has given to you to ensure that your tattoo heals perfectly and minimises the risks of complications.

We recommend using one of the products we have in stock at the studio which are available to be purchased on the day or we can advise on something different.

  • What should I expect on the day?

When you arrive at the studio, please let one of the artists know that you are here for your appointment.

You will be sent a consent form that will need to be filled out and checked through with your artist. Please bring your I.D with you. No I.D - no tattoo and your deposit will be forfeited

Once your artist is happy with the information you have given them, they will take you into reception where they will get your design and stencil ready. This is when any last minute changes can be made and if you are not happy with something, please let them know!

We have free drinks and refreshments within the studio but we encourage you to bring some lunch, snacks and sugary drinks to your appointment. We aren’t within walking distance of shops so make sure you bring what you need on the day.

  • How to prepare for my tattoo?

Before your tattoo, there are a list of things that you can do to help you have the most pleasant experience.

Please come fully rested and have something to eat and drink before your tattoo. Make sure you haven’t consumed any drugs or alcohol within 24 hours of your appointment as this can lead to complications. We have the right to refuse your service.

Wear something comfortable, loose fitting and preferably dark. Dependant on where your tattoo is, your artist may ask you to remove some clothing to reach the area.

Pain can be managed by taking ibuprofen or paracetamol, however we do not recommend any numbing creams.

Bring a book or some headphones with you as a distraction, we won’t be offended!
